Domestic Politics of War (Part II)
Given that the war will not improve, what then will most likely affect electoral outcomes in the US? That’s where the unpredictability comes in. I would ask, however, that we take a couple of things into account. First, the Democratic Leadership Council – which might engineer a primary victory for Clinton; and second, aside from the war, polls show, Americans (these averages are tricky, the average voter has one testicle and one breast) are most concerned with… terrorism.
The latter is the result of a very impressive bit of mass indoctrination, but it has tremendous material force nonetheless, especially in elections, which are spectacles of indoctrination. I’ll return to the dangerous significance of this after we take a short tour through the Democratic Leadership Council.

hmmm For some reason i don’t think that people are very concerned that the war is improving, although that is just opinion. I guess you are wondering whats going to make who vote for who?
This is a difficult question. I don’t seem to think that “conservative” minds are really going to change. Even if the war was going bad they still need to vote ” antiabortion” and ” antigay.” This persona, many unfortunately are relating to. So republicans will continue to be republicans.
Democrats. I’m very unsure about what would happen if they took office. ” would they withdraw?” “will they keep destroying the middle east?” It’s hard for me to put a finger on. But the facts are, and boil down to people still need to vote antiwar and pro abortion. So those are the… i guess ideologies that people will still hang on to given the fact that the working class is a little too busy to study politics.
So, democrats will continue to be democrats. I don’t think minds are changing. I haven’t seen any evidence of anyone before the war who has changed their mind to believing the war is actually ” going wrong.”
In my own heart I think voting is a far cry from freedom, given the fact we only have two parties to vote for and the fact all the power is secured for the rich. It is also a far cry from freedom because freedom is a struggle, not a poll, not a president. Anyway, i’m rambling. I’m glad you put this comment thing on here Stan-O. Hope you will reply to me, and help me understand some things.

Stan,
You are correct. The DLC is disgusting and their view on the situation in Iraq is similar to GWB. More of the same BS from a broken system.
Read this from the “honorable” Will Marshall from the “Progressive Policy Institute”– What a joke
