My pal has been out for a week, and I am experiencing the addict’s craving for her handle in boldface on the comments column. Addicts take liberties, so to satisfy my compulsion and that of the others who look forward each time they click into FS for bullshit deconstruction with a headlamp and a filet knife (and that fine and sometimes caustic wit), I am linking to DeAnander’s Eurotrib diary (since it’s already online). Population of San Diego fire evacuation zone: 500,000
Population of the New Orleans flood evacuation zone: 500,000
White folk as a % of evacuees, San Diego: 66%
Black folk as % of evacuees, New Orleans: 67%
Size counts, too. Size of your wallet, that is:
Evacuees in San Diego, in poverty: 9%
Evacuees in New Orleans, in poverty: 27%
