Peace on Earth
Keep this hope alive.
They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore. — Isaiah 2:4
Ain’t gonna study war no more.

Found something that sticks?

War is your demons projected outwards. Ignorance and tribalism its catalysts.
The only answer, is within. Bleeding Daylight.

War is the quickest and easiest response to a real and vital competition for resources amongst the human animal. We are intelligent enough to come up with solutions other than conflict, but generally too lazy in both thought and action to do so. Thats how I see it anyway.

Peace to you, too, Stan.
28 December 2007, 9:52 pmMs Kitty:
War is not the quickest and easiest response to compete for resources. Although ignorance and tribalism are tapped to bring support for wars, they are not the root causes.
War is either outright theft or it is big money for war industries. Many of the wealthiest companies in the US supplied the German war machine in WWl, WWll and continue to supply weapons and technology to “enemies” now. War is big money no matter whose side you are on.
We the peons need to resist being pulled into war lies. We have squandered our own precious resources to support this and all other wars. It would have been much cheaper to buy the oil than to spend what we have spent in money, energy and human lives, in this and all ridiculous wars.
Even the Civil War would have cost less if the government had offered to buy and then free all of the slaves rather than go to war. But then how would the poor arms manufacturers, military suppliers, pr agencies, think tanks and organized crime make a living?

C: War is politics by other means.
L: Yea, other, _violent_ means.
31 December 2007, 1:26 pmpeggy:
Seems to me that politics is war by other means.
2 January 2008, 5:15 amCharles:
Why not ? Politics is war by non-violent means ?
Speaking of non-violence, Happy Martin Luther King’s Birthday.
